Expect an email or call to rate EPPF

Dear Member,

It’s remarkable that we’re now in June 2025. How this year has flown fly. One of the highlights is that 2025 marks the 75th year that EPPF has been in existence as a pension provider. We’re proud of the achievement and even prouder to hear from you, as a member.

EPPF’s strong income generation despite global market disruptions

  • We reported in our last Integrated Annual Report, EPPF’s assets under management surged to an impressive R203.5billion, marking a 40% increase over five years. This growth demonstrates the Fund’s resilience and strong income generation despite global market disruptions and a stagnant local economy.
  • During the pandemic, when there was so much uncertainty, R319million was provided in pensioner bonuses for the annual amount as well as Covid-19 relief in 2021. That was a significant advancement of EPPF care considering the provision of bonuses to pensioners must be buoyed against the Fund’s long-term sustainability.

My gratitude to Eskomites, our unsung heroes

I’m grateful to the Eskomites who remain resilient and resolute in bringing electrification to the country. They are our unsung everyday heroes. And when they transition through life from being in-service to becoming pensioners, it’s our honour to ensure we take care of their financial future. As member-owned, led and operated pension fund, members are our reason for existence.

Hear first-hand from EPPF

Over the years, we’ve shared our commitment to doing better. We listen to what you say and we implement what’s possible immediately. And every year is an opportunity for us to do better than the previous year. The team is intentional about delivering care to you and your loved ones. One of my personal highlights was listening from a member who shared how EPPF has positively changed her life, as well as that of her beloved son. If you missed it, please click here to read the cover story from our last newsletter.

I also shared a special message to you as we mark 75 years of caring beyond tomorrow. Click here to listen to that message which I recorded alongside EPPF’s Board Chairman Caroline Henry.

New ways to receive Fund news and to get in touch

There are various options, new and what we’ve brought you traditionally, for you to receive Fund news and for you to make contact with us. These include:

EPPF’s Member and Pensioner Survey will roll out in June 2025

As the year progresses, it’s our opportunity to reflect. Our annual Member and Pensioner Satisfaction Survey will be run in the month of June. Please expect an email from our research partner. BMI-TechKnowledge, or BMIT for short, will again independently carry out this year’s survey for us. BMIT is a reputable and professional market research consultancy with years of experience in the field of customer satisfaction research. The BMIT team will conduct the survey for us from 3 June 2025 to 28 June 2025.

Researchers will contact a sample of you telephonically to conduct the survey or schedule an appointment for a telephonic interview. We listened to your request for a shorter survey so you can expect to spend no more than 10 minutes of your time on the survey. You can also complete the survey online via a secure link that you will receive on the SurveyMonkey platform. The email to complete the survey online will come to you from the address: research@bmit.africa

The survey is confidential

Should you choose to take the survey; you’ll be requested to provide your unique membership or pensioner number. This is so BMIT can authenticate that you are a member or pensioner of EPPF. BMIT will not provide us with your details or your individual answers when giving us survey feedback unless you give permission. Instead, we will receive a report with the overall scores on how you rated us based on your experience with us over the last year.

BMIT is a member of the Southern African Marketing Research Association and abides by a strict code of conduct that includes compliance to the Protection of Personal Information Act, as well as survey ethics.
